Upgraded Hot Oil System
IPS provided upgrades/repairs and replacement of an existing Hot Oil System in a U.S. Army production facility for press tooling as follows:
- Removed the existing Hot Oil System and piping feeding multiple production bays
- Designed, purchased and installed a new Custom Oil Heater System utilizing a Chromalox heat exchanger
- Provided material and labor to install new oil lines, valves and fittings as required
- Oil heater system included new explosion-proof motor, pump, thermocouples, and all new hydraulic lines and valves from the heater to the various bays
- IPS replaced the existing system temperature controller with a new explosion proof temperature controller that included a safety interlock for automatic shut off if temperature were to climb 20°F over the set point temperature
- New plumbing included in-line isolation valves for both the 8-ton and 35-ton presses
- Piped the new Hot Oil System to the existing presses with insulation as required
- Purchased and installed explosion-proof control package with Bebco purge units for the new system controls
- Provided start-up and system instruction to government engineering and production personnel for the new equipment
